We all know that exercise is an important component to overall well-being, but just how many steps should you aim for if you want to live a longer and healthier life? New research suggests 7,000 is a good target.
Among their findings: Taking 7,000 steps per day was associated with nearly a 50% lower risk of dying compared with the bare minimum of 2,000 steps. Yes, you read that right - 50%!
