We’re thrilled to announce that our second location—serving Arden and South Asheville—is almost here! To celebrate, we’d love to introduce the amazing providers who will be bringing our integrative, patient-centered care to this new space:

Dr. Chad Krisel – Co-founder of Integrative Family Medicine, board-certified in Family and Holistic Medicine, with global experience from Asheville to Panama, Guatemala, and Haiti. Expert in medical acupuncture, herbalism, and blending modern medicine with nutrition and lifestyle care.

Katey Perry, FNP – Dedicated to women’s health and compassionate care, with experience in both primary care and occupational medicine. She believes in truly listening to each patient’s goals and priorities.

Dr. Michael Crowgey – Family Medicine physician with a fellowship in Integrative Medicine. Passionate about lifestyle as medicine, he works with patients on nutrition, GI/digestive issues, exercise, sleep, mindfulness, and more.

Liz Frost, MMS, PA-C, MSCP – Our very first team member back in 2011! A PA since 2015, she specializes in women’s health, care coordination, and helping patients create sustainable, mindful paths to wellness.

As we approach one year since Hurricane Helene, we’re taking a moment to celebrate a powerful force for good in our WNC community: Babies Need Bottoms Diaper Bank.

Babies Need Bottoms Diaper Bank has officially distributed 2.5 MILLION diapers to families in need—a milestone reached this July!

Since 2017, Babies Need Bottoms has partnered with community-based organizations across WNC to meet essential health and hygiene needs—especially crucial because diapers aren’t covered by programs like SNAP or WIC. In the wake of Hurricane Helene, Babies Need Bottoms stepped up in a huge way to ensure our local families had access to this critical, and often overlooked, resource.

“This milestone is more than a number—it’s a symbol of hope, dignity, and care for thousands of families,” said Alicia Heacock, Co-Executive Director of Babies Need Bottoms. “We are deeply grateful to our community for making this possible.”

🌟 🎉 So much to celebrate this week! Please join us in wishing a VERY happy one year work anniversary to our amazing provider, Michael Crowgey, MD! 🎉 🌟

Dr. Crowgey joined us at a truly meaningful time, and over the past year, through both joyful milestones and unprecedented regional challenges, his calm presence, clinical expertise, and compassionate care have been a steady light for our patients and our team. From Virginia to Japan to Arizona — we’re so grateful his journey brought him here to Asheville.

Now proudly calling the Blue Ridge Mountains home, Michael thrives in the outdoors — hiking, biking, and trail running are just a few of his favorite pastimes. Whether he’s gardening, watching documentaries, diving into podcasts, or spending time with loved ones, Michael truly embodies the balanced, intentional lifestyle we encourage for our patients (AND he's currently accepting new patients ages 0-62!).

🌟 Celebrating a decade of remarkable care, commitment, and passion from our PA-C, MSCP, and Vice President, Liz Frost! ✨

Liz was Integrative Family Medicine's very first hire when we opened our doors in 2011 — one of the best and easiest decisions we've ever made. Inspired by the compassion and integrity with which Dr. Krisel and Dr. Lewis treat their patients, Liz pursued her own degree in medicine, graduating in 2015 with distinction from the Physician Assistant Studies department at Wake Forest School of Medicine. She has been practicing at Integrative Family Medicine as a PA-C since August 2015.

To say our practice wouldn’t be the same without Liz is an understatement. From mentoring and supporting our team, to ensuring our values are lived out in every interaction and inspiring life-altering change in our patients, Liz’s impact ripples far beyond our clinic walls.

Thank you, Liz, for the countless ways you have and continue to show up for our team, patients, and community at large. This past weekend, our team at Integrative Family Medicine was thrilled to attend a ribbon-cutting celebration marking the reopening and revitalization of Depot Street in the River Arts District after the impact of Hurricane Helene! What an inspiring day seeing our local businesses coming back strong and full of resilience.

While this year has brought unexpected and unprecedented challenges, time and again, we’ve been reminded of the strength, compassion, and unity of our community.
