Ever heard of Ikigai?
Chad Krisel, MD and IFMA co-founder shares a Japanese concept that translates to “reason for being,” and it lives at the intersection of four powerful questions:
🧐 What do you love?
🧐 What are you good at?
🧐 What does the world need from you?
🧐 What can you be paid for?
When even two or three of these overlap, something shifts. Work feels lighter. Life feels more intentional. You stop running on autopilot and start moving with purpose.
And here’s the part people often miss:
Ikigai doesn’t have to be about money.
Volunteering. Caregiving. Creating. Teaching. Supporting others.
Purpose can show up in the quiet, unpaid spaces just as much as in a paycheck.
Ikigai is about understanding what makes you feel useful, fulfilled, and excited to wake up and letting that guide how you show up in the world.
