Greetings all. It’s been an interesting two or three months eliminating clutter from 42 years of living in the same house. Combined with the politics of the day, I’m pleased to see this beautiful amaryllis blooming on my porch. May you all catch a breath of sweet air on the spring day! Just wrapped up my six-week Power of Breath course with Ollie at UNCA! It was an eye-opening journey into the shared exploration of breath and its profound impact on the nervous system. Learning how to regulate and down-regulate through breathwork is a powerful tool for resilience and well-being.

Thanks to the hurricane, family illness, and my dive into the study of breath with the Oxygen Advantage, last fall left me a bit whelmed without time and reserves to interact. However I am back. For the past several months, I’ve immersed myself in breath practices and training to truly understand how breath works. With so many different ways to manipulate the breath, you may wonder—is one better than another?

What I’ve learned is that it depends on you and your goals. Is your breath serving you in your daily life?

Training your breath is much like navigating the ocean—unpredictable and ever-changing. But there’s also science and wisdom from those who’ve come before us to guide the way.

In 2021, I faced a heart challenge brought on by stress and inactivity, and instead of medication, I chose to trust my breath. Through my 30 years of Pranayama training and Ayurvedic breath techniques, I found stability—and deeper understanding.

The breath can restore balance to your nervous system, bringing increased clarity, emotional stability, and physical resilience. It’s about entering into a relationship with the mystery of your breath. 🌬️✨
