Hart Funeral Service, Inc. is the successor of Wilkins-Hart Mortuary, Inc. In 1974, Osborne M. Hart purchased Wilkins Mortuary, which was an old established company. The following is a brief timeline of our history:
1900: Alonzo McCoy Undertaking Company becomes successor to Norah Murrough Undertaking Company, a well known establishment in the Asheville Buncombe County area.
1920: McCoy Wilkins Funeral Home becomes successor to Alonzo McCoy Undertaking
1930: Wilkins Mortuary becomes successor to McCoy Wilkins Funeral Home.
1974: Osborne M. Hart purchases Wilkins Mortuary
