Our Story
Do you feel stuck with your body? Do you feel you are limited, low on energy, aging too fast, or in too much pain? Do you have a poor body image? Do you feel you are doing just the best that you can do, and need to just make the best of it?
I used to feel that way too; I was tired too easily; I was aching too much. I was frequently drained by migrating pain that showed up in my knees, lower back, between my shoulder blades, or in my shoulders and neck. Plagued by migraines, TMJ, carpel tunnel syndrome, sciatica, and flat duck feet, I was a mess! And I hated my tummy!
Exercise and diet seemed to help only minimally. Weekly trips to the chiropractor eased my pain temporarily, but it was costly and I worried about side effects of overdoing that type of treatment for several years. Massage helped, but it seemed temporary. I was stressed & frustrated.
Then I discovered the original Rolf method of structural integration, developed by Dr. Ida P. Rolf in the 60's when her work was affectionately referred to as the Rolf Method or RolfingĀ® by her clients and the people she trained. It seemed like a type of massage therapy or bodywork that not only felt good; it got lasting results! When I first felt my new experience of a spring in my walk, I cried. Never in my life did I anticipate the possibility of a new experience like that in my body. Yet here was proof of a new paradigm that was easy and enjoyable to implement.
