Prosper Beyond is turning 10 this year! To celebrate such a huge milestone, we want to highlight our journey with a few words about how we came to be from our founder and CEO Doral Jacobsen:

In late spring of 2016, I found myself in a coffee shop in Boone, NC. I had just been laid off from a large firm and was staring at a bank account with exactly $161 in it. I knew that this was just a beginning….

I had a simple goal: to create the company I always wanted to work for but could never find.

I chose the name Prosper Beyond because I believed medical practices deserved to do more than just survive—they should thrive. I wanted to help them navigate complex reimbursement models so they could focus on what actually matters: caring for their communities sustainably.

Today, that "company of one" has grown into a small and mighty team of a dozen of the most talented, creative, and kind individuals I’ve ever known. Together, we have successfully represented thousands of clinicians across the country in high-stakes payer contract negotiations. We love what we do, and it shows.

We at Prosper Beyond have the privilege of calling Asheville, NC home. We were incredibly proud to see Dr. Shannon Dowler, who has treated patients in Western North Carolina for over 20 years, interviewed by the New York Times about her experience working with uninsured people from Appalachia.
