Say hello to our newest optometrist, Dr. Jennifer Scurlock, known affectionately by patients and teammates as Dr. Jai! We’re so grateful to have her on our team.

Originally from the Tampa Bay area, Dr. Jai has lived in several places, most recently Philadelphia, before bringing her passion for people and eye care to Asheville.

A graduate of Nova Southeastern University’s College of Optometry, Dr. Jai’s journey into eye care was personal. Having faced her own vision and eye health challenges, she understands how powerful the right care can be and she brings that empathy and precision into every patient interaction.

Outside the exam room, you’ll find her coaching CrossFit classes, enjoying the outdoors with her two pups, or soaking in Asheville’s vibrant, nature-filled lifestyle. She's also deeply grounded by the love and support of her wife her biggest cheerleader and constant inspiration.

Double the Celebration: Honoring Kelci & Stephanie! 💜🥳

Please join us in celebrating two incredible leaders on our team, Kelci McDaniels and Stephanie Salas, as they each reach meaningful milestones at Envision!

Kelci, our unstoppable Clinical Manager and in-house Insurance Specialist, recently celebrated 5 years with Envision! She keeps things running smoothly behind the scenes, supports our clinical team with precision, and helps patients navigate insurance with compassion and clarity. Kelci brings heart, humor, and steady leadership to everything she does. We’re so grateful for her continued dedication to our team.

Originally from Canton, NC, Kelci is a book lover, horseback rider, and avid traveler. Having worn glasses for over 20 years before getting LASIK, she understands the vision care journey from the inside out.

We’re also thrilled to recognize Stephanie Salas, our incredible Optical Manager, who is celebrating 7 years with us this month!

You’ve likely seen Stephanie in our optical boutique, helping patients find their perfect frames and ensuring the fit is just right. She carefully curates all the beautiful eyewear lines we carry and supports throughout the office on many levels. Her leadership, versatility, and advocacy are key to our success.

Outside of work, Stephanie loves traveling, attending concerts, and spending time with her loving wife, Morgan (they/them), and their two beloved fur babies.

Who doesn’t love a Win-Win? Several years back, Envision decided that for every Google review we receive, we will donate $2 to a local nonprofit. This quarter, we’re honored to support Blue Ridge Public Radio (BPR).

Why BPR? Because in the days after Helene, when we had no power, no water, and no communication, BPR was one of the few lifelines that kept us informed and connected. Their reporting helped guide our team, our patients, and our neighbors through the unknown.

Since then, BPR has lost over $300,000 in federal funding due to government cuts. Yet, they continue to share thoughtful, reliable, and essential stories that reflect, inspire, and unite Western North Carolina.
