Today is National Rice Krispies Treat Day!
We are celebrating here at Blue Sky Pediatrics by giving all of our patients (with the parents ok) a Rice Krispie treat! You can celebrate at home today by making some of these delicious treats with your child. See recipe below.

INGREDIENTS
For the Classic Treat Base
6 cups Rice Krispies cereal The crispy foundation for that signature snap and chew everyone loves.
1/2 cup Unsalted butter Adds richness and helps bind the ingredients smoothly.
10 oz Marshmallows Your sweet, gooey glue; mini marshmallows melt faster for easier mixing.
For the Cake Batter Flavor
1 cup Vanilla cake mix Infuses the treats with that unmistakable cake batter magic.
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract Boosts the flavor depth and enhances the cake batter vibe.
Fun Mix-ins & Toppings
1/2 cup Rainbow sprinkles Add for bursts of color and extra sweetness.
1/4 cup White chocolate chips Optional, for creamy pockets of melt-in-your-mouth decadence.
INSTRUCTIONS
Preparation
Melt butter and marshmallows over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth and pale golden, about 3–4 minutes, then remove from heat promptly.
Stir in ½ cup vanilla cake mix and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, scraping bowl sides until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
Fold in 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal, mixing until each crisp is evenly coated in sweet, buttery batter.
Add ½ cup rainbow sprinkles and ¼ cup white chocolate chips, stirring gently until evenly distributed.
Press mixture into an 8×8-inch pan greased with butter or nonstick spray, packing it firmly into an even layer.
Cool treats at room temperature for at least 30 minutes, then slice into 16 squares.
NOTES
Optional: Top bars with extra sprinkles before cooling for festive flair.
