For the Classic Treat Base
6 cups Rice Krispies cereal The crispy foundation for that signature snap and chew everyone loves.
1/2 cup Unsalted butter Adds richness and helps bind the ingredients smoothly.
10 oz Marshmallows Your sweet, gooey glue; mini marshmallows melt faster for easier mixing.
For the Cake Batter Flavor
1 cup Vanilla cake mix Infuses the treats with that unmistakable cake batter magic.
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract Boosts the flavor depth and enhances the cake batter vibe.
Fun Mix-ins & Toppings
1/2 cup Rainbow sprinkles Add for bursts of color and extra sweetness.
1/4 cup White chocolate chips Optional, for creamy pockets of melt-in-your-mouth decadence.
INSTRUCTIONS
Preparation
Melt butter and marshmallows over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth and pale golden, about 3–4 minutes, then remove from heat promptly.
Stir in ½ cup vanilla cake mix and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, scraping bowl sides until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
Fold in 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal, mixing until each crisp is evenly coated in sweet, buttery batter.
Add ½ cup rainbow sprinkles and ¼ cup white chocolate chips, stirring gently until evenly distributed.
Press mixture into an 8×8-inch pan greased with butter or nonstick spray, packing it firmly into an even layer.
Cool treats at room temperature for at least 30 minutes, then slice into 16 squares.
NOTES
Optional: Top bars with extra sprinkles before cooling for festive flair.

Since school is back in session, we remind you that we have a walk-in clinic available. This is Monday-Friday only. This past Saturday, September 6, was “Read a Book Day”. Here are some interesting facts for you to share with your children.
-Who is the fastest reader in the world?
Howard Berg was recognized in 1990 by The Guinness World Record Book as the world’s fast reader at over 25,000 words per minute.
-How quickly does the average person read?
The average person (aka non-speed reader) reads between 200 – 300 words per minute.
-Can the final volume of Harry Potter be read in 47 minutes?
Apparently so! Anne Jones, a six-time winner of the World Championship Speed Reading Competition, read Harry Potter and the Deadly Hallows in 47 minutes equating to 4,200 words per minute.

Here at Blue Sky Pediatrics, we are celebrating today by giving all of our patients a free bookmark. Our staff and physicians are also sharing their favorite childhood book.

Happy reading to you and your family!

Have you visited the NC Arboretum lately? When you are there next time, make sure to visit the Willow Pond. Dr. Kowa and his wife, in the name of Blue Sky Pediatrics, have sponsored the building of the steps at the education shelter. They also dedicated the educational floating island in memory of Dr. Kowa’s parents.

Their son, Makade (a part-time nurse at Blue Sky), and his wife, Brittany, recently visited and had a quiet memory reflection thinking of his grandparents.

The Arboretum is a great place for family time.
