OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

Some of you will be meeting a new person when you come to our office in the next few months. The attached flyer explains who we are talking about.
Brittany is available to see your child for consults while they are in our office seeing their Blue Sky doctor. She will be working mainly with Dr. Hamilton, but is available at your request if your child is seeing another doctor in our office. She can observe and recommend any occupational therapy services that may help your child. If your doctor agrees, your child can then be referred for therapy.
We are excited to offer this service at no extra charge to you while Brittany is available.

Questions about measles?

Recently the Buncombe County Health Department announced 3 measles cases in Buncombe County. This is not considered an outbreak of measles at this time. With good contact tracing, spread of the virus can be limited.

Measles vaccines are indicated for the following populations:
- 2 doses for school age children (age 4+)
- 1 dose for infants 12 months or older who have not entered school
- Certain infants age 6-11 months who are traveling internationally or to areas with active outbreaks

We will be open tomorrow (Wednesday, December 31) for sick patients. We will NOT have our early-morning walk-in available. If your child is sick and needs to be seen, please call our office after 8:30 am to schedule an appointment. We plan to only see patients in the morning, so please call as early as possible to get an appointment time.

Our office will be closed on Thursday, January 1. Our phone nurse triage is always available when we are closed. We will reopen on Friday, January 2 with our normal schedule.

We are a busy Pediatric office and we are adding a clinical employee to join our team. An experienced CNA, Medical Assistant, or a LPN is preferred. We will train the right person if you don’t have the experience that we need. We try to be a drama-free office, so please remember that when applying. You need to be a good team-member that believes in supporting those around you. You must have some flexibility with your availability and an occasional early morning, late evening and rotating 1/2 day Saturday will be required. We offer a competitive salary and benefits. Salary range listed can change based on experience level. You must enjoy working with kids. Experience with Allscripts is a plus. Experience giving vaccines is preferred. Experience with nurse triage is also a plus. If you've applied before and are still interested, apply again. We don't keep resumes after we complete a hire since we get so many candidates. Our holiday schedule will be as follows:
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day—Closed
New Year’s Eve—open in the morning for sick kids
New Year’s Day—Closed

As always, when we are closed, we still have our Nurse triage available with knowledgeable staff who can answer your questions or contact our doctor on call, if needed.

Our office will close at 12:00 noon on Thursday, December 18 for Christmas Staff Training.
If you need to talk to a nurse on Thursday, leave a message and your call will be returned.
If your child is sick and needs to be seen on Thursday, please call as early that morning as possible so we can get them seen before 12:00 noon. Our nurse line is available for any questions you might have.
