As women raised in a dominant patriarchal culture, we are trained not to take up space, not to have needs, and definitely not to ask for more. Fortunately, this paradigm is shifting but it takes time and so it often still feels like we are having to push against our own fears, guilt and generational conditioning when we ask for more.
But it’s important for us to keep pushing our edges around this—giving ourselves permission to ask for more. Not only for ourselves but for our relationships and the wellbeing of the whole. Because we can see how much intimacy and deep connection is possible when we put energy into it. We can see how important it is to prioritize rest and care for our nervous systems. We can see when more ownership or accountability is needed to restore connection. And we can see how it benefits everyone when household management is divided evenly.
So when we ask for more, we are supporting and uplifting everyone involved ✨❤️🔥
