The outcome of this high-profile case is a stark reminder of how power and fame can be barriers to justice. We encourage survivors to take the time they need to process this moment and to know that support is available.

To every survivor watching—we see you, we believe you, and your voice matters.

Pride Month is a time to recognize the LGBTQIA+ community. It’s also a time to keep in mind the importance of supporting mental health within this community, which often faces unique challenges like discrimination, stigma, and barriers to affirming care. Creating inclusive spaces and promoting access to resources can make a real difference.

Mental health matters. Support matters. Call our Scheduling Center at 1-866-233-1955 today to schedule an appointment or visit our website and complete a contact form at www.pathways-ky.org

Kentucky’s legal community is coming together next week in London to learn about how attorneys can donate their time for the pro bono representation of survivors of domestic violence. Lack of access to legal representation is a chronic barrier survivors of domestic violence face, and pro bono attorneys can help fill that gap. ZeroV’s Chief Legal Officer, Meg Savage, will present on the ethical representation of survivors of domestic violence in court, highlighting the unique aspects of competency, diligence, and client safety involved in DV cases. Presenters also include Attorney General Russell Coleman, Sen. Professor Cassie Chambers Armstrong, Sen. Brandon Storm, and Charnel Burton. Continuing legal education credits (1.5) will be given to any attorneys who attend.

This gathering is made possible by Magistrate Judge Hanly A. Ingram, Eastern District, Kentucky, and The Pro Bono Work to Empower and Represent (POWER) Act. Passed in 2018, the legislation requires the Chief Judge of each Judicial District across the country to hold at least one event each year to promote pro bono legal services for survivors of domestic violence, stalking, and sexual assault. Thank you to Judge Ingram and AppalReD Legal Aid, for organizing and hosting this event for the benefit of survivors.

We can combat harmful cultural norms that perpetuate sexual harm by working together to create consent culture. How do we do that? Just a few ways:

>Interrupt harmful jokes/rhetoric about sexual harm and/or survivors.

>Work to recognize and respect your own boundaries--and the boundaries of others.

>Make it known how important these issues are to you--through social media, personal/professional/academic conversations, or your immediate spaces, such as stickers, magnets, signage, etc.

>Familiarize yourself with local resources, such as r**e crisis centers, advocacy organizations, hotlines, websites, etc., and work to keep that information on hand to share w/ others.

Federal funding isn’t optional — it’s essential.
Every year, over 5 million survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence rely on services funded by federal grants — including shelter, counseling, legal advocacy, and more.

But right now, those services are at risk. Programs are being forced to shut their doors due to federal grant delays, terminations, and funding cuts.

📢 On June 5, we take a stand.
Tell Congress to protect and invest in funding that keeps survivors safe and supported.

Our hearts are with our partners at ASARC and Cumberland River Victims Services following recent severe storms in Kentucky.

ASARC’s office in Somerset sustained major damage and is currently closed. Their crisis line remains open, and their advocates are still working hard to support survivors.

Cumberland River Victims’ Services in Corbin remains open and continues to provide critical services during this time.

Please join us in sending love, strength, and solidarity to these incredible teams as they continue showing up for survivors and their communities in the aftermath of the storms.
