Starting October 7th, we will be holding a free weekly Women Veterans Support Group thanks to a grant from the Virginia Department of Veterans Services S.O.S Community Program.

This group has been designed to help Women Veterans who live in Hanover County and the surrounding areas build community and get support managing stress, anxiety, trauma, and substance misuse.

Group Therapy is an effective form of treatment because it combines community with the healing process.

When I initially planned for this case the patient and I had discussed that they wanted to keep their diastema (front gap)- [unfortunately at the time I didn’t have a clinical camera to show you the start with their front teeth and gap]. I placed the implant respectively to patients cosmetic needs/ when allowable. Half way through healing time patient decided they no longer wanted their gap and wanted to restore with their gap closed. From the time I placed the single implant to the final smile delivery was seven months. This patient drove 1.5 hours for every visit!

Allow yourself to understand that this stuff doesn’t happen overnightt. Respect healing time and requests and design changes. I think often time social media sets patients up with unrealistic expectations and timelines.
