I was given this statistic by another LMT. I am NOT feeling this way, however, I am very motivated to change this statistic for my profession. It is vital that we learn to transmute the trauma that we release from our patients in order for us all to heal from the massage session.

Sometimes I watch my dog hovering nearby while I’m eating, eyes locked on every bite like it’s a shared responsibility, and I realize how much of my life quietly revolves around them in the best way, because nothing ever really goes to waste here, not crumbs, not moments, not the comfort of having a little shadow who’s always ready to “help” without being asked, and honestly I’ve gotten so used to it that the idea of living without that eager presence waiting by my side feels strangely empty, like something small but important would always be missing from the routine I didn’t know I needed 🐾
