Regional Hospice's Annual Education Day is for all staff and volunteers. This day is special because it brings everyone from all of our locations together. It's a social and educational day with time to learn and time to get to know others who support our patients and our program. Thank you to all who attended!

Our guest speaker, Rosie Gaston, has a Masters in Social Work and specializes in Hospice & Palliative Care. Rosie spoke about death anxiety as it effects both patients and those caring for hospice patients. The afternoon offered practical strategies to break the burnout cycle in mission driven work. The day ended with sharing what we appreciate about our work!

Thank you Rosie! A Better Ending

Regional Hospice's Catch A Dream is about helping patients capture the joy in living. For Carol who has been home bound, her dream was to be outdoors to enjoy the sunshine, view of the lake and a beautiful fall day. Carol said, "It's inspiring to be outdoors and see life." The last time our patient was able to be outside of her home was several months ago for a doctor appointment. The smile on Carol's face radiates with joy as she is able to spend time with friends, old and new, in the peaceful setting of her home.

Carol's dream was only possible with the help of the Sawyer County Ambulance Service. John Froemel, Emergency Services Director and his crew were able to assist Carol outdoors and remained until she was safely inside. Carol, a retired RN shared stories with the EMT crew. Carol was among a group of peers sharing about their experiences in the medical field and stories of fishing and the joy of the northwoods.

Regional Hospice is thankful for the support from the Emergency Services crew!
