Appleseed Community Mental Health Center

Appleseed Community Mental Health Center Appleseed Community Mental Health Center, Inc. is a not for profit community mental health agency.

Appleseed walks with families and individuals on their journey to live healthy, whole, and productive lives by offering comprehensive and integrated behavioral health, housing, outreach & prevention, substance-use disorder, and victim services. Appleseed wishes to maximize an individual’s existing strengths, focus on solutions and create a supportive environment for people suffering from mental illness. This is in contrast to focusing on existing weaknesses, problems, and creating an environment not chosen by the individual. Appleseed strives to serve individuals in the least restrictive, most appropriate environment possible. Appleseed seeks to address the needs of all Ashland County residents, including the needs of the general public and the needs of people with severe mental disability, as identified both in the Ashland County Board of Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health Services’ community plan and through Appleseed’s needs assessment activities.

This week, counselors Jeremy Smith, LPCC-S and Pam Lemaster, LPCC-S had the privilege of presenting QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) training at the Loudonville Public Library.

QPR is a powerful, evidence-based su***de prevention program designed to equip anyone—parents, teachers, coworkers, friends—with the skills to recognize warning signs, offer hope, and connect someone to help. It’s simple, practical, and can truly save lives.

If your business, church, school, or community organization is interested in knowing about QPR or learning more about su***de prevention, please contact Appleseed Community Mental Health Center. We’d be honored to support your team and strengthen our community together. 💙

Thank you Loudonville Public Library for hosting us and Richland County Mental Health And Recovery Services Board for making this training possible!

🌧️ Feeling low as the days get shorter? You’re not alone.
Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is a type of depression that follows a seasonal pattern—most often beginning in fall or winter when daylight decreases. Common symptoms include low energy, changes in sleep or appetite, loss of interest, and persistent sadness.

The good news: SAD is treatable. Light therapy, vitamin D, counseling, and small daily habits can make a big difference.
