Appleseed Community Mental Health Center, Inc. is a not for profit community mental health agency.

Appleseed walks with families and individuals on their journey to live healthy, whole, and productive lives by offering comprehensive and integrated behavioral health, housing, outreach & prevention, substance-use disorder, and victim services. Appleseed wishes to maximize an individual’s existing strengths, focus on solutions and create a supportive environment for people suffering from mental illness. This is in contrast to focusing on existing weaknesses, problems, and creating an environment not chosen by the individual. Appleseed strives to serve individuals in the least restrictive, most appropriate environment possible. Appleseed seeks to address the needs of all Ashland County residents, including the needs of the general public and the needs of people with severe mental disability, as identified both in the Ashland County Board of Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health Services’ community plan and through Appleseed’s needs assessment activities.

Appleseed Community Mental Health Center is seeking a compassionate and dependable professional to join our Safe Haven shelter team. This full-time, third-shift position (Monday–Friday, 12:00 a.m.–8:00 a.m.) provides overnight support to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.

"In 2007, Congress designated September 25 as the National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims. Robert and Charlotte Hullinger, of Cincinnati, formed Parents of Murdered Children following the 1978 murder of their 19-year-old daughter, Lisa, while she was studying in Germany. The annual day of observance is on the date Lisa was murdered. The annual National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims gives us all the opportunity to remember those lost to homicide, and honor their memories. The purpose of this event is to focus on the impact of murder on families, and communities, and ways to support and serve survivors."

We are beyond grateful to everyone who showed up, shared their stories, visited vendors, and stood alongside us to shine a light on recovery. 💛

✨ Our mission was simple:

-To raise awareness about substance misuse.
-To connect individuals and families with resources.
-To celebrate hope, healing, and recovery.

And together—we accomplished that. 🙌

The testimonies, conversations, and connections reminded us that recovery is possible and that no one is ever alone in this journey. 🕯
