Hospice of North Central Ohio

Hospice of North Central Ohio, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, provides palliative, hospice, and bereavement.

Founded in 1988, Hospice of North Central Ohio is celebrating a 35-year legacy of serving the community as “Your Hometown Hospice”. We are a locally focused and community minded non-profit organization, dedicated to providing peace of mind and comfort through compassionate care. Hospice of North Central Ohio provides compassionate care that addresses the physical, spiritual and emotional needs of those with serious illnesses. Patient care is provided in the home or in an extended care facility. Through doctors, nurses, aides, social workers, chaplains, administrators, and volunteers, our goal is to improve the quality of life, providing comfort throughout the illness, until the last breath is taken. In addition, Hospice of North Central Ohio offers comprehensive bereavement services, including support groups, individual counseling, educational programs, and Camp Hope, a week-long children's camp held each June. We differ from other hospice organizations in that our bereavement services extend beyond the families of our patients to benefit anyone in the community at any time.

In partnership with Primrose Retirement Communities, we welcomed Joe Wesner of Ultimate Veteran Adventures for a conversation focused on the unique needs of veterans. Joe shared how therapeutic outdoor experiences can bring comfort to veterans living with PTSD and other challenges tied to their service. At HWR, we work every day to honor veterans through specialized care, recognition ceremonies and programs that respect the experiences they carry. This discussion strengthened our commitment to creating opportunities that support their well-being in meaningful ways.

Hospice of the Western Reserve has office space available for lease at our Mount Vernon location. We are remaining in the building, just looking to lease some of the extra space. Please share if you know of a healthcare or other non-profit organization that might be in need of some office space.

Looking for professional office space in Mount Vernon? We have up to 5,000 square feet available for lease at our Knox County facility, located at 17700 Coshocton Rd, Mount Vernon, OH. This space is ideal for healthcare or non-profit organizations and includes amenities such as ample onsite parking, a covered entranceway, elevator, outdoor patio, conference rooms and a breakroom/kitchen.

Mount Vernon Health and Rehabilitation Poker Run today! Kick off starts at 10am at Hospice of the Western Reserve! Stop by for your chance to win a 50/50 raffle and raffle baskets, grab some popcorn, and a take a scenic ride around Knox and Richland Counties. Proceeds to benefit Hospice of the Western Reserve.

Mount Vernon Health and Rehabilitation have joined with other area facilities and partners to organize a Poker Run on Saturday, September 20! 🃏

First task on Sept. 20 is to register and grab your map of stops at Hospice of the Western Reserve in Mount Vernon at 10AM. Everyone will meet back at 3PM to enjoy local food trucks, music, and raffles. All proceeds to benefit Hospice of the Western Reserve in support of patient care.
