Dr Robert Medeck has been in continuous practice for over 26 years. Graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1985, Dr Medeck has devoted himself to learning a range of chiropractic techniques through the years of practice to meet the individual needs of his patients. He is well versed and proficient with traditional approaches to treatment, including osseous adjustment techniques to more r
efined, “light touch” approaches that requires very minimal adjustive pressure while treating, dependent upon individual patient needs and response to various treatment approaches. He has also had training and experience with esoteric forms of healing, utilizing principles of polarity, and energy healing methodologies, such as reiki, bio energy synchronization, touch for health, and endocrine reflexes. Dr Medeck understands the intertwining and extremely important relationship of the skeletal and soft tissue systems, so incorporates therapeutic massage, with licensed massage therapists, as well as myofascial release techniques that he performs, into his practice. Prior to becoming a chiropractor, Dr Medeck received his B.S. degree in allied health care in 1975, with specialized training in cardiopulmonary sciences. He spent the next ten years working as a clinical supervisor, in various hospital settings performing various cardiopulmonary diagnostic workups, such as ECG, cardiopulmonary stress, pulmonary function, echocardiography, as well as respiratory and resuscitative support for cardiac catheterization, infant respiratory support, and APGAR scoring in high risk delivery, and intensive respiratory support in neonatal intensive care, post open heart surgery, medical intensive care. After acquiring his Oregon massage license in 1980, Dr Medeck realized that he had an affinity for helping people with their physical problems with a hands on approach, and naturally progressed into chiropractic training soon thereafter. He has spent many rewarding years since then, helping people regain the quality of life that debilitating and chronic pain prevents. Dr Medeck has advanced certification in the diagnosis and treatment of spinal trauma. He understands and utilizes specialized diagnostic studies that not only objectively proves the presence of “whiplash” type injuries to the spine, but quantifies the severity of the injury, and can project the typical timeline of treatment, as well as necessary referrals for adjunctive therapies that are needed to return that patient to an optimum level of improvement, based upon well established practice guidelines, and clinical correlation. He is able to communicate such information, as necessary, in a clear and understandable manner for medical/legal purposes, like so many injuries of this nature fall under, and only utilizes a network of those doctors, diagnosticians, and physical therapists who understand the dynamics of such injuries, also. Because of his extensive background in the medical arena, Dr Medeck is well versed in medical treatment, as well as non conventional approaches to many medical conditions, and is able to discuss with his patient’s the varied courses of action they may take, to get properly treated for conditions outside his course of practice. Dr Medeck’s office, staff, and practice style is definitely of a low key, relaxed atmosphere. He has a family and patient oriented practice, with many patients and former staff members he considers as part of his extended family. Being patient friendly(customer friendly), Dr Medeck will do his best to educate his patient’s as to their condition, as he sees it, the course of action for favorable and lasting outcome, depending upon their specific goals, and alternatives to care, and will treat accordingly. Having been in practice for so many years, it is Dr Medeck’s experience that people, when properly informed, will usually make the right decision about what course of treatment they need and want, and will help them as much as possible with however much effort they want to put into active recovery, with him. His business thrives on word of mouth advertising. If a patient has a favorable experience in his office, other people in crisis, naturally find him by asking their friend’s, family, and co workers who to go to. The purpose of our clinic is to support as many people as possible in their quest for health, and to educate them about chiropractic, so that they may in turn educate others.
