Your cycle is a coordinated process between the brain, ovaries, and hormones.

The luteal phase is the second half of your cycle.

After ovulation, progesterone rises to help prepare and stabilize the uterine lining. If pregnancy doesn’t occur, progesterone and estrogen drop, menstruation begins, and the cycle starts back at day one.
