Pardon our dust as we remodel the receptionist area! I’ve been here since 1994 but had no idea which part had been added to the original building. I definitely didn’t know there was blond wood paneling behind the wallpaper. How retro!!

Not all bottled water is safe to use to prepare infant formula. It must be purified by one of three methods: reverse osmosis, micron filtration or ozonation. If it reads “bottled at the source” it is NOT SAFE to use. Tap water boiled for 5 minutes is also safe to use.

The following was copied from a physician page I follow. Its a persepctive most people
don’t consider. Childhood cancer Is awful. ❤️‍🩹

Immunologists and Oncologists— child previously vaccinated with MMR, but after cancer treatments including ONE round of high dose (thiotepa and carbo) and rescue autologous SCT of course is no longer immune. Told can’t re-vaccinate with live vaccines until early Sept, however this is based on getting three rounds of high dose/SCT. Getting worried as measles creeps closer and my child didn’t survive cancer and it’s horrendous treatments to suffer from measles complications (thanks to those who consider vaccinating a choice…). Could we re-vaccinate with live vaccines earlier in this situation?

Isn’t this interesting? Believe it or not, the newly released vaccine schedule is exactly what we require to be patients of our practice. It makes sense to require immunization for diseases transmitted by respiratory droplets. Those transmitted by blood/body fluids may be approached more thoughtfully. Your pediatricians were ahead of the new guidelines. We also never gave the MMRV as the initial dose. About time everyone else caught up. 🙌

Ashland Children’s Clinic will be closed from 2pm Wedneday December 31st until 8am Friday January 2nd. Business as usual all day Friday the 2nd. We wish everyone a Happy New Year.
