Some weeks test you—but they also remind you why you started.

At BioSurfaces, we’ve always taken the long road: building real science, staying honest about our technology, and putting customers first. In a world where hype can outpace substance, that hasn’t always been the easy path.

But here’s the “little secret”…

Our IVRT business is growing fast. Without massive spending, without noise just real results. Our Bio-Spun® scaffolds are gaining traction because they work, and our customers are seeing it firsthand.

At the same time, we’re seeing renewed interest in technologies like our NuSpun™ Vascular Graft and Bio-Spun® Fistula Plug, along with more companies reaching out to collaborate and co-develop solutions. After years of steady work, it feels like the momentum is building.

We may be the “best kept little secret”… but maybe not for much longer.

Week 1 – Optimist vs. Realist – The Struggle Is Real

What happens when a lifelong scientific optimist runs head-first into the realities of biotech entrepreneurship?

In this week’s blog, Matt shares an honest look at fundraising, stalled deals, broken partnerships, and why optimism fuels discovery—but doesn’t always translate cleanly to business. He also highlights why IVRT and Bio-Spun™ scaffolds give us confidence as momentum builds toward more human-relevant, non-animal testing models.

If you’ve ever balanced hope with hard-earned realism, this one will resonate.
