Secondary trauma happens when someone experiences emotional duress when they hear about the firsthand trauma experiences of another person. During the age of social media, we are more susceptible to frequently hearing and seeing the life events of others, and current events happening around the globe. While it's important to stay informed, it is also just as crucial to maintain healthy boundaries with others and ourselves.

Come out to support a day of joy and inclusivity for all ages.

We are excited to be participating in this event that will feature and support local musicians and talent, local artists and makers, food trucks, and more.
The event will also be partnering with and supporting local nonprofits doing important work to support the Trans, Q***r, and QTBIPOC communities.

The event is hosted by TransJam RVA, a local Trans and QTBIPOC-led 501c3 nonprofit with the mission to bring visibility to, support, and nourish LGBTQ+ community and to organize and host safer and more inclusive local events.

Sometimes it can be hard to see or celebrate our accomplishments and capabilities. Whether that's getting a new promotion, a new career opportunity, or praise for hard work, sometimes we may feel like we "don't deserve it." Imposter syndrome makes it difficult to recognize how all of our accomplishments have led us to where we are in the present, and affirm to ourselves that we are qualified and "enough." To learn more about imposter syndrome and ways to help conquer it, visit our blog.

Happiness is shaped by more than external experiences; internal mechanisms (brain habits) play a large role as well: how we think, how we cope, what we choose to focus on, and how we connect with others. Small daily choices can help your overall well-being. This International Day of Happiness, remember to take time to pause and embrace joy even in the “small” moments.

Every year, World Social Work Day is celebrated across the world on the third Tuesday of March. This recognition is an annual global observance that brings social workers together to amplify their shared mission of promoting social justice, equity, and wellbeing. We'd like to give a big shoutout and thank you to our social workers, Reiley, Alex, and Maegan, for all the amazing, hard work they do everyday!
