William “Bill” J. Fisher Jr., aka “Pop” or “Pops”, 76, of Ashland passed away Saturday afternoon August 30th at his residence surrounded by family after a long hard fought battle with Lewy Body Dementia.

Joan Ann Green

Joan Ann Green, 88, of Elysburg passed away Thursday morning August 7th at Serenity Gardens in Kulpmont.

Born on December 6, 1936 she was the daughter of the late Victoria & Floyd Bycoskie.

Joan was of the Catholic faith and was a member of Queen of Most Holy Rosary in Elysburg.

She was the wife of the late Robert “Bob” R. Green. Joan married Bob on June 20, 1959 in Sunbury, PA and they were happily married for 58 years.

The couple had 100 acres of orchards where they grew mainly apples and peaches. A large amount of fruit was sold wholesale, but Joan and her husband Bob attended the Lewisburg Farmer's Market and Saturday morning curb market in Shamokin for all of their married life.

She enjoyed cooking, gardening and baking.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother John Bycoskie and twin sister Jean Novitsky.

Surviving are her daughter and two sons: Julie A. (Green) wife of Michael J. Hricko of Catawissa; Robert D. husband of Yook-Fung Green of Cleveland, OH; John C. husband of Melody Green of Cincinnati, OH. Seven Grandchildren: Robert J., Elda M., and Rose V. Hricko; Georgia R., Lily E., Marabelle, and Frances Green; 4 great grandchildren; sister Lorraine Yagel (John), Selingsgrove; sister Nellie Davis, Selingsgrove; nieces & nephews.

A viewing for family and friends will be on Monday August 11th at Queen of Most Holy Rosary Church in Elysburg from 10:00-11:00 AM followed by A Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place following services at St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery in Danville.

Joseph “Joe” R. Scheuren

Joseph R. Scheuren, 80, of Ashland passed away Thursday morning August 7th at Geisinger Medical Center-Danville.

Born in Danville on July 1, 1945 he was the son of the late Catherine (Manley) and Paul Scheuren.

Joe was devout member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Ashland.

He graduated from Ashland High School in 1963.

He was the husband of Margaret “Marg” M. (Hess) Scheuren.

Joe served in the Air Force. He was a self-employed railroad contractor, later he worked for Star Track.

Joe enjoyed his grandchildren, Phillies, and traveling. He was a member of Ashland Elks Lodge 384, Lavelle Volunteer Fire Co, American Legion Post 434-Ashland and Knights of Columbus Council 748.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his niece Angela Neary.

Surviving are; spouse Margaret “Marg” Scheuren, Ashland; daughter Megan Engelbrecht (James), West University Place, TX; daughter Erin Germany (Edward Meyers), Alexandria VA; son Robert Scheuren (Brenda Linn), Ashland; brother John “Jack” Scheuren (Emily), Honey Brook; brother Francis “Frank” Scheuren (Kathy), Womelsdorf; 5 grandchildren Joshua Scheuren (Samantha), Tyler Scheuren, Samuel Engelbrecht, Muriella Engelbrecht, Brandy Kessler; 1 great grandson Kolson Scheuren; nieces, nephews, cousins & in-laws.

A viewing for family and friends will be Saturday August 9, 2025 from 9:00-10:00 AM at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Ashland. Services in church will begin at 10:00 AM following the viewing. Interment with military honors will be on Monday August 11, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery-Annville.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Joe’s memory to St. John’s Episcopal Church, N 13th St & Market St, Ashland PA 17921.

John A. Williams

John A. Williams Jr., 59, of Mount Carmel passed away Sunday evening July 20th at his residence.

Born in Pottsville on May 15, 1966 he was the son of Patricia (Schott) and the late John A. Williams Sr.

John graduated from Boyertown High School in 1984.

He was of the Christian faith.

John worked as a truck driver and also as a handyman. In his free time he enjoyed fishing.

Surviving include; mother Patricia; sister Lisa Kerns; brother Shorty Williams; daughter Jackylynn Williams (Nicholas), IN; son Craig Williams, Mount Carmel; son Rylan Williams, MI; daughter Ellie Williams, MI; 3 grandchildren; nieces, nephews & cousins.

Robert “Bobby” Rodgers





Robert A. Rodgers, 56, of Elysburg passed away Friday afternoon July 18th at Geisinger Medical Center-Danville.

Born in Coatesville on April 24, 1969 he was the son of the late Wilma (Mack) and Robert E. Rodgers.

Bobby attended the Elysburg Alliance Church.

He was currently employed at Scheetz in Elysburg.

Bobby ran with the Elysburg Fire Company for several years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Roxanne “Roxie” Mack.

Surviving are his; daughter Roslenna “Rosie” Rodgers, Elysburg; daughter Jorddin Rodgers, Danville; daughter Janet Rodgers, Catawissa; brother Eric Rodgers (Tina), Elysburg; brother Bill Rodgers (Alice), Honey Brook; sister Tammy Heaps (Spencer) Sylvan Beach NY; 1 granddaughter Genevie; many nieces, nephews & cousins.
