We have been notified that Republic Services is delaying trash pickup for at least another hour today due to weather conditions. They will be sending two trucks out to try to complete today's route today as conditions allow.

If they are not able to complete the whole route today, they will pick it up along with tomorrow's .

As a reminder, there is no delay for Thanksgiving, normal Thursday pickup will continue as scheduled.

The City of Ashland Winter Parking Ordinance (Ch. 504.43) will be fully activated starting tonight, November 24, 2025. Vehicles should be removed from all residential streets and avenues within the city limits from Midnight - 6 AM (Main and 3rd St from Stuntz - 14th Ave, 2 AM - 6 AM).

Starting tonight, warnings will be issued for vehicles remaining on the street. Ticketing for the Winter Parking Ordinance will begin on the evening of December 1, 2025.

Any questions regarding the Winter Parking Ordinance can be directed to City Hall.

City offices will be closed Thursday & Friday November 27-28.

The City of Ashland will be holding a Spring Election on April 7, 2026 and (if necessary) a Primary Election on February 17, 2026. The Spring Election includes Municipal, County, School Board, State Supreme Court, and various other non-partisan races.

City of Ashland races on the Spring Ballot include:
- Mayor
- District 1 Alderperson
- District 3 Alderperson
- District 5 Alderperson
- District 7 Alderperson

Paperwork for nomination is available at City Hall in the City Clerk's Office for all positions. Paperwork can also be accessed on the Wisconsin Elections Commission Website (https://elections.wi.gov/candidates/getting-ballot). Papers may not be circulated before December 1st, 2025 and are due by 5:00 PM on January 6th, 2026.

Questions regarding running for office, the nomination process, or any Elections questions may be directed to the City Clerk's Office.

UPDATE: The waterfront trail has reopened by the City of Ashland Water Plant.

UPDATE: The waterfront trail has reopened as of 11/17/2025.

Work on the Water Intake Project is starting to begin with hauling of supplies and equipment to the site starting this week. Barricades have been placed on the Lake Front Trail at 11th Ave E and the west end of the City Dock area. The orange line on the map indicates the detour for the trail.

For the safety of trail users, please follow the posted detour and avoid entering the site beyond the barriers.
