Update 4:15pm - The shelter in place order has been terminated.

The City of Ashland Police Department is requiring everyone in the 400 block of 12th Ave E and 13th Ave E to shelter in place.

There is a barricaded subject in that area, and APD is asking everyone to avoid that area at all costs!

There is an elevated police response in that area at this time. For your and officer's safety, please stay away. This post will be updated when more information is available.

What a weekend! We would like to thank the Book Across The Bay team, all of the volunteers, emergency & safety responders, bands, and vendors for a fantastic event on Saturday. The City of Ashland welcomed 2200 race participants from all over the area as well as 31 states and three countries.

A special thanks to Republic Services for supporting the live music and to the Ashland Wisconsin Rotary Club for helping out with the beer garden.

We look forward to another Winter Carnival and the 30th Anniversary of Book Across the Bay next year!
