Join Nicky Roosevelt at the SOBI 2025 Virtual Conference:

We talk about the fact that Arthur Lincoln Pauls was a Judo instructor for 20 years and brought that experience to his formation of Ortho-Bionomy. But what WAS that martial arts aspect? What part of Ortho-Bionomy reflects that lineage? In this movement presentation, I will lead some warm up exercises from Aikido that we can relate to our Ortho-Bionomy practices. We will then move on to finding out how we can play with some aspects of Aikido techniques that will allow participants to feel in their whole body many of the principles of Ortho-Bionomy in a fun and safe way. Whether or not you have a practice partner, you will get a chance to see how martial arts informs your Ortho-Bionomy practice!

Join Erin Long at the SOBI 2025 Virtual Conference:

The presentation will combine images of our bony structure and muscles to facilitate an understanding of what the exercises are. There is a progression of skills, 3-4, that will be demonstrated and practiced. The 60 minutes will allow for several short demonstrations with practice after each. We will explore how the cervical vertebrae move individually and how they relate to each other. Then we will expand the work to include the skeletal system and upper muscles of the back.
