Only 15 more days until Ashland's 1st Annual Food Truck Fest! AADC will be introducing the food trucks one at a time over the next few weeks, so stayed tuned in and tuned up, people!

First in our lineup is "The Frybread Shack" out of Bad River. Ezra Leoso is the frontman for this family operated business. Their food trailer may be new, but their food already has a steady following of devoted customers. But who doesn't like frybread done perfectly, am I right?

The blue corduroy jacket celebrated a momentous occasion in 2023: 90 years as part of FFA Official Dress.

Its origin dates to 1933, when FFA advisor Gus Linter saw a blue corduroy jacket in the window of a hardware store in Fredericktown, Ohio. He connected with the jacket supplier and had his chapter’s name stitched on the back of the jackets with gold thread. (Here, Linter presents the first jacket to Ohio FFA nearly 20 years after its 1933 debut.) The jackets were so popular at that year’s national convention that the official delegates made them part of the official FFA attire. The jacket’s popularity remains. The millionth FFA jacket was sold in 1964, and by 1976, 2 million jackets had been sold. Today, more than 80,000 jackets are sold annually.

The School District of Ashland does not provide funding for official dress for students (blue jacket, white collared shirt, tie/scarf, black pants/skirt, black socks/stockings, and black shoes). Students must fundraise or be gifted a jacket through the support of sponsors and donors and allows FFA to provide blue jackets to deserving members.

Wishing all my friends and family a very Happy Valentine's Day! Our student Cancer Awareness Team at AHS, called Oredockers for LIFE, put together 84 Valentine Care Packages and delivered them today to the Northwest Wisconsin Cancer Treatment Center in Ashland. They will be delivered to cancer patients over the next few days. Each one contained a handmade Valentine Card that students made during their lunch hours during the past few days.
