What is the “Crack” that you hear at the chiropractor? Let’s talk about it…
This is called a cavitation which is just gas bubbles being released in the synovial fluid of a joint. While it is usually more satisfying for both patient and doctor when you get the audible “crack”… the adjustment and movement that the chiropractor puts into the joint still occurs with or without that noise happening! Some patients are “crunchier” than others and some will not have any audible release at all. We adjust our force depending on age, size, and sensitivity of the specific patient we are working on! We also adjust some of our patients who are not a fan of manual adjustments or have certain health conditions preventing a manual adjustment with an activator tool.

My favorite way to end a Friday is a maintenance care appointment with my bestie who is one of my “crunchier” patients (Sound on)😉

I spent all last weekend in a 25 hour course at Tripoint learning and practicing the technique and safety protocols of dry needling. I have heard so many people over the years sing the praises of dry needling so I knew it was a must to have in the tool belt to treat my patients!

Organic vs. Non-Organic shopping….?
Let’s talk about it!

Benefits of Organic produce and foods:
🥕 Significantly lower pesticide and chemical exposure
🥕 Higher nutrient content including antioxidants, vitamins and minerals
🥕 No GMO’s

Foods that should be bought Organic when possible
(The Dirty Dozen):
* Strawberries, Spinach, Kale, Grapes, Peaches, Cherries, Nectarines, Pears, Apples, Blackberries, Blueberries, Potatoes

Foods that are okay to be bought Non-Organic (The Clean 15):
* Bananas, Mushrooms, Kiwi, Carrots, Cauliflower, Mangoes, Watermelon, Cabbage, Asparagus, Frozen Sweet Peas, Onions, Papaya, Avacadoes, Sweet Corn, Pineapple

While buying organic is usually a bit more expensive, the long-term health benefits can be quite substantial and most stores including Aldi and Walmart have organic options in most of these foods.

January 6th… my one year anniversary of being in practice!! It’s amazing for me to look back and see how much I’ve truly grown as a doctor in just this first year. I have been so blessed with the most amazing and thoughtful patients that have become more like friends and family to me. Some wise words from Dr. DiSalvatore before I started practice that really stuck with me… “Take care of your patients and they’ll take care of you.” I have learned so much working next to Doc this year and have gotten to benefit from his many years of experience. He truly is one of the best, along with our amazing staff who have welcomed me into the DiSalvatore Chiropractic family! It’s been a year of getting to start giving back to the community that has given to me all these years, and I can’t wait to continue for many years to come! I was not always perfect, but I learned from every patient and every experience. If you have been a part of this first year for me, just know I appreciate each and every one of you❤️
