Healthy Hope is very excited to begin offering EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy. Our therapist, Jen Hunt, recently attended a full week of training in this modality and has begun using EMDR with her patients. EMDR is effective for everything from childhood trauma to anxiety, grief, addiction, or poor self-image. EMDR is an evidence-based treatment enhancing the brain’s amazing ability to heal itself. Using bilateral stimulation similar to that found in REM sleep, EMDR helps disturbing thoughts or memories to become less intense, resulting in more peace and a healthier view of oneself.
