For too long we, and that’s women mainly, have worried about fat loss. Forget about it. Your metabolic engine is from the muscle you hold, not the fat you lose. Body composition is important, but results are seen, AND FELT by the lean body mass that is maintained over your lifetime. Dr. Lyon explains this in an easy to read and understand format for all.

A great supplement to this book, or if you’re not into reading, is her podcast The Dr. Gabrielle Lyon Show. She is relatable as a mom, physician, woman who does it all. Her goal of explaining the science behind attaining lasting quality of life is admirable.

Not just for those in the menopause transition, Dr. Sims describes ways to not just survive but thrive as an active woman with explanation of life stages and how to be your best through all of them.

Nutrition, fitness and mental health are all covered in this 2022 publication. There are definitely some things in here that don’t jive with me, but a good manual for most.

Aspen women are active, extremely active. There are many tid bits in here I pass on to patients almost daily.
I listened on then purchased hard copies to highlight and hand out to patients. Come borrow for a week if you like!

Fun fact that’s a bonus to me-Stacy Sims is plant based for many years 🌱

When you’re ready to lift heavy s**t as this book demands, call my friends 💪

I feel strongly this should be a 2024 summer read for all parents and educators.

First photo is the UK edition since it’s paperback and I’m traveling. The second photo is the US edition in hardback.

I wish this came out 5 years ago. Never too late to make changes though!
