Working out in Fernwood today. Took care of a friends family stone, and came across Herman.
Such a nice property. Well maintained.
The below is just copied from Find A Grave

Diver, United States Navy veteran.

He was born in what was the Stolpmünde, Prussia, but is now Ustka, Poland.
He came to America and was part of a crew of a merchant ship that was captured by the Confederates during the Civil War.
He was sent back to the United States and he joined the Navy.
Upon his discharge he started a business as an underwater diver, operating in the Delaware and Schuylkill Rivers. He died of Bright's Disease at age 62.

After seeing this Gold Star Mothers monument so poorly represented on the front page of the Daily Times we decided to do something about it. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
You can see someone was trying to clean the stars, but all they did was stain the stone.
We’re gonna come back with some paint remover and try and get that spray paint off.
