At Mount Sinai Queens, care goes beyond treatment—it’s in the moments of connection that truly matter.

Diane Forde, from our Patient and Equipment Transport team, recently turned hesitation into trust by listening and guiding a patient who had initially refused a scheduled test. In the Emergency Department, she helped a distressed patient in police custody feel heard and calm, creating a safer, more positive experience.

“Diane consistently goes above and beyond,” says Gigi Carlucci, Director of Patient and Equipment Transport. Her empathy and dedication make a meaningful difference every day.

It’s a reminder that sometimes the smallest gestures can have the biggest impact. Thank you for all that you do, Diane!

When Queens resident Jessica Rodriguez, 55, felt sudden jaw pain, she initially thought it was dental-related. But trusting her instincts and seeking care at Mount Sinai Queens saved her life.

"Heart attacks don’t always present as chest pain, especially in women," says Dr. Jonathan L. Murphy, an interventional cardiologist at Mount Sinai Queens.

Dr. Murphy discovered a 100% blockage in her right coronary artery and performed a life-saving stent procedure. Thanks to quick action, Jessica was home the next day and has since made heart-healthy lifestyle changes.

Even if you feel healthy, a yearly wellness exam is an important step in staying that way. Your primary care provider reviews your lifestyle, medical history, and family history, and helps ensure you’re up to date on recommended screenings and vaccinations. It’s also a valuable opportunity to build a relationship with a provider who understands your health and can help catch potential issues early. Taking time for your annual exam today can help protect your health for years to come.
