Amberwell Atchison is proud to announce our 2025 Service Award recipients. We had a wonderful time celebrating this deserving group of talented and dedicated individuals at a banquet held at the Atchison Event Center. Recipients were recognized for reaching service milestones ranging from 5 years to 40 years.

These years represent more than time on the job. They reflect the values our team brings to work every day — caring for patients with quality and professionalism, supporting one another through teamwork, and building trust through integrity and respect.

We also announced our 2025 Leader of the Year—Eric Wagner, Director of Facilities.

Thank you to every team member who lives our values through teamwork, respect, integrity, and quality care. Your work makes a difference for our patients, our colleagues, and our communities.

Not gonna lie...the rest of us at Amberwell Atchison were pretty jealous of Joe's courtside view at today's exciting quarterfinal win. What a great time to be an athletic trainer! Huge congratulations to this amazing team of Phoenix athletes, we're all cheering you on to your final two wins!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 2nd Annual Atchison Community Heart Month Challenge and 2K Fun Run/Walk last Saturday!

We had an incredible turnout this year, with close to 300 participants registering for the month-long challenge and 135 coming out to participate in the 2K Fun Run/Walk. That's almost double what we had last year! It was great to see so many people show up, stay active, and encourage one another along the way.

The event included several activities focused on heart health and wellness. First, participants headed to Riverfront Park for the 2K Fun Run/Walk. They enjoyed mild weather with no rain. Then, they had the chance to learn more about heart-healthy habits, enjoy heart-healthy snacks, and stop by for blood pressure checks provided by Highland Community College Technical Center School of Nursing students. Many people also had fun at the selfie wall and took a moment at the pledge wall to write how they plan to add more activity to their daily lives.

Participants also had the opportunity to win great prizes, including an air fryer, fire pit, Kindle, and 4 children’s bicycles.

A special thank you to the Atchison Family YMCA/Cray Community Center for hosting the event and inviting challenge participants to work out at the Y free for five weeks!

We also want to recognize Desaray Wilson and Camron Roloff from the Cardiac Rehab team at Amberwell Atchison for organizing and coordinating another successful event.

Thank you again to everyone who participated and supported heart health in our community. We’re already looking forward to next year—until then, keep finding ways to move every day! 💙

Our Atchison Community Heart Month Grand Finale is this Saturday, March 7th at 10-11am! Join us at the Atchison Family YMCA for the 2K Fun Run/Walk!

We’re in the final stretch! With just a couple days to go, now’s the time to keep moving and log those last minutes for the challenge.

Every step, every lap, and every minute adds up. The energy has been incredible this month, and we can’t wait to see everyone this Saturday at the Y! All are welcome!

Don't forget to bring your completed fitness logs to qualify for some awesome prize drawings, including 4 children's bikes!

We’re proud to share some exciting news. Amberwell Atchison earned 5-star CMS patient experience ratings in Communication with Nurses, Communication about Medicines, and Quietness of Hospital. We also received a 4-star overall patient experience rating based on patient surveys from Q2 2024–Q1 2025.

“These results reflect the daily commitment of our team,” said Alicia Sorensen, COO/CNO. “Every department plays a role in the patient experience. We are proud of this progress and grateful for the trust our community places in us.”

This recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to improving outcomes for mothers and babies through education, staff training, and consistent, patient-centered care.

🎂 𝗪𝗘𝗟𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗘 𝗧𝗢 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗟𝗗!

Weighing 6 pounds, 12.6 ounces and measuring 20 inches long, baby Guinevere Sharp was delivered by Dr. Norma Green at Amberwell Atchison.

Guinevere’s mother, Kyndra Sharp, shared:

“My experience was an amazing one. Every single one of my nurses was incredible. They were all so kind and caring. I'd nominate each and every one of them for a DAISY Award if that was possible.

My anesthesiologist also made my birth experience the best birth I could have asked for. He was incredibly kind and comforting. He made sure I was well informed on everything. It was clear that he prioritized my experience alongside the safety of me and my baby. This was my fifth C-section, but the first birth experience that felt like an experience, and not just something that happened to me.”
