I think I could cry at the success of this program. I had hopes that I could be part of a program like this one that would bring this to Columbia and Greene Counties in my former job. That wasn’t in the cards unfortunately because some people didn’t understand the need or understand the clients we were working with. It’s a missed opportunity to save lives here in my opinion. So that ship has sailed for my opportunity. But I’m so glad it’s happening elsewhere and is making a difference in the lives of people. Radical ideas bring radical solutions.

🚨 OVERDOSE AWARENESS ALERT 🚨

OUT OF COUNTY - Ulster County has reported 12 overdoses in the last 5 days including at least 1 fatality. Columbia county has recorded 1 non fatal overdose in this time and Greene County has recorded 1 non fatal overdose during this time.

Narcan is available from Greener Pathways by texting NARCANKIT to 21000.

Fentanyl TESTSTRIPS and Xylazine TESTSTRIPS are available by texting TESTSTRIPS to 77948.

All requests can remain anonymous. We want to help you save a life.

🚨 Sharing this alert from Greene County Public Health about recent overdoses in Greene County. Please spread the word. 🚨

Greene County Public Health Alert:
From Friday 6/30/23 to Saturday 7/1/23, there were 3 reported overdoses across Greene County.
Two overdoses were non-fatal, requiring multiple doses of Naloxone. One overdose was fatal, with the suspected drug being crack/cocaine laced with fentanyl.

If you are using drugs, you can decrease your risk of overdose by practicing harm reduction:
- If you must use, always let a loved one or friend know where you are.
- If you must use alone, please call the New York State Never Use Alone Hotline at (800)997-2280.
- Carry Narcan and make sure you and those you are with know how to use it.
- If you would like to seek help for your substance use or need a supply of Narcan, please call Greener Pathways at (518)822-7437 or text NARCANKIT to 21000 or visit https://www.greenegovernment.com/departments/public-health/harm-reduction-saves-lives.
- If you witness an overdose, the Good Samaritan Law can protect you.
