Ohio’s doctors of optometry are stepping up to ensure every child has the tools they need to see.

Thanks to a new $10 million investment in Ohio’s state budget through Governor Mike DeWine’s OhioSEE program, thousands of students will receive eye care services and glasses, directly in their schools.

Did you know that Doctors of Optometry practice in 87 of Ohio’s 88 counties, while ophthalmologists are only in 53?

By allowing optometrists to perform minor, in-office procedures, Senate Bill 36 will make it easier for patients to access care and help serve Ohio’s aging population, cutting down on wait times and travel distances to appointments — especially for Ohioans in rural parts of the state.
