Meet the Levandofsky family!

Chris Levandofsky is a powerful example of perseverance and transformation. A graduate of The Clem House, Chris dedicates his time to helping others in recovery by working in the field as a counselor, supporting individuals as they rebuild their lives and overcome addiction. His journey reflects resilience, growth, and a commitment to giving back to the same community that helped him. Now taking another major step forward by receiving a Habitat for Humanity home, Chris continues to show that recovery can lead to stability, purpose, and a future filled with hope. His story is an inspiration to many who are walking the same path toward recovery and a better life.

Also pictured are Steven and Thomas. Both successful individuals within The Clem House program who have been working with Habitat through our workforce development program. Their involvement in this build reflects the brotherhood and support that recovery can create.

This full circle moment shows how individuals who once needed help themselves are now working together to uplift others.

Congrats Chris! We are proud of you! 👏🏻

Tonight was an emotional dinner as we celebrated our intern Laikyn and our Social Worker Paul. Laikyn will be graduating next weekend from Ohio University and moving on to pursue a career in social work. Unfortunately, Paul is leaving us after almost two years. He will be relocating to his hometown with his wife to be closer to family while raising their new baby. We will miss them terribly but wish them both the best of luck!

Dear Athens County Community,

It has been a career long passion of mine working with the community on making Athens County a safer, more enjoyable place to work, live and play; in efforts to continue my passion, I am pleased to announce the H.E.A.R.T (Helping End Addiction, Responding Together) of Athens County. This program was created to save the lives of our l oved ones who are currently struggling with addiction and prevent overdose within our community.

Addiction and overdose affect more than one person, it impacts the hearts of families, friends and the entire community. We know that recovery, compassion and second chances can transform lives. Through partnership, understanding, and support, we can make sure that those fighting addiction have access to the resources, treatment, and support they need to begin a new chapter. Our deputies, advocates, and community partners work hand in hand to connect individuals with treatment options, family support, and follow up care.

If you or a loved one is struggling with addiction or post overdose, you are not alone and the H.E.A.R.T of Athens County is here to help. Recovery is real and it starts with a single step and a community that cares.

We are here to help you on this journey with a mission to serve with compassion, protect with purpose. Please call 740-566-4305, email helpnow@athenssheriff.com, visit our website www.athenssheriff.com or walk into the Sheriff’s Office to receive help for yourself or a loved one.

IF SOMEONE IS OVERDOSING CALL 911 !

H.E.A.R.T of Athens County because every beating heart is worth saving.

After three months of holidays, illness and conflicting schedules, our men were finally able to enjoy another house outing. These outings are one of the many ways the staff can show how proud of them we really are. Keep it up guys!

Each year in November our residents do their give back project. This year they wanted to each adopt a family and provide that family with a complete Thanksgiving meal. With food insecurities and the struggles with SNAP, their timing couldn’t have been more perfect. These 9 meals were delivered by our residents to the families on Saturday. Thank you to our community partners who helped us in identifying 9 deserving families. Happy Holidays from our house to yours!
