Athens Wellness Clinic is happy to share that their summer internship applications are officially open!

As a medical intern, you will be trained to complete intake examinations, navigate our EMR, and conduct a variety of point of care tests. Our interns have gone on to nursing school, physician assistant school, medical school, and dental school.

Karen Besse had this to say about her time as an Athens Wellness Clinic Medical Intern,

Last week, in partnership with UGA’s College of Pharmacy, Athens Wellness Clinic performed screenings for HIV and Hepatitis C at Potter’s House. We are so thankful for UGA Pharmacy’s partnership and all the patients we are able to serve through outreach efforts like this.

Meet Libby: A proud Athens Wellness Clinic patient. When Libby noticed a lump in her breast, the diagnostic mammogram the clinic referred her to confirmed that she had breast cancer while experiencing homelessness. The clinic, alongside other local organizations, rallied behind Libby to help get her wrap around, whole person care. Libby is still battling, and largely credits the clinic with helping her access treatment and stability. We are so thankful for her!💙💚

Athens Wellness Clinic has a fully equipped, modern dental suite that we are hoping to use more consistently! To make that possible, we are looking to connect with additional dentists who may be interested in volunteering with us.

We are deeply grateful for the dentists who already serve our clinic. As patient need continues to grow, our goal is to have dental services available every Friday by broadening our pool of dental providers.
