This Giving Tuesday, we are beginning our Healthcare for the Holidays campaign by highlighting one of the most important services we provide. Each year, uninsured patients come to Athens Wellness Clinic with breast health concerns that would go untreated without our program. Your support helps us provide mammograms, PAP smears, women’s health exams, and the coordinated care that keeps our patients safe.

Meet Alan: an Athens Wellness Clinic patient that was supported by the clinic after he had congestive heart failure. Along with our treatment, AWC referred Alan to the Good News Clinic. Two of our team members, Nora and Naomi, joined Imagine Hope at their annual conference. Through Imagine Hope, the Athens Wellness Clinic can test patients for HIV in house for the first time. It was very empowering to be surrounded by likeminded healthcare professionals collaborating on ending Hepatitis C and HIV in the state of Georgia. AWC was joined by other local organizations such as Advantage Behavioral Health, The Athens Clinic, and Alliance Recovery Center at the conference. Imagine Hope’s mission is to find creative solutions to complex social problems and for overcoming barriers to well-being, and Athens Wellness Clinic is so happy to support them!
