I am Tomilola Afolabi. Originally from Abuja, Nigeria, I moved to Georgia from Indiana. I earned my BSc in Biology with a minor in Education from the University of Ilorin and my MSc in Biotechnology from Georgetown University. A course on drug development to post-approval sparked my interest in clinical research, providing valuable insights into the drug lifecycle and inspiring me to improve patient outcomes. Outside of work, I appreciate chatting with friends, watching animations and YouTube videos, cooking, and dancing.

Hey Athens!! Have you ever had a Whole Body Composition test or a DEXA scan? This test provides accurate in-depth body composition analysis of your fat, muscle, bone and water mass. This can be used to identify health risks and problems in the body before they occur. This can also be used to check where you are now and set goals for where you want to be.

We are offering whole body composition scans at Summit Clinical Research, LLC. for $75.00. (These are normally $150 to $300.00)

A DEXA whole body scan is the gold standard in providing whole body composition information.

Things to know:
- The scan can take 10 to 20 minutes to perform.

- The best time this is most accurate is before 2pm. Arrive properly hydrated (fasted but small amount of water is allowed), and don't exercise or have eaten a meal prior to your scan. The entire appointment is blocked for 30 min but the scan will take 8-10 minutes at most.

- No vitamins before the bone density test.

- You should remove all jewelry and other accessories in the area to be scanned and wear loose comfortable clothing. Wear clothes with no metal, buttons or zippers.

** You should not consider having a whole body composition DEXA scan done if you have any of the following:
- Pregnancy
- Recently had gastrointestinal contrast or radionuclides
- Severe degenerative changes or fracture deformity in the measurement area
- Inability to attain the correct position and/or remain motionless for the measurement
- Extreme obesity or extremely low body mass index that may inversely affect the technique and the ability to obtain accurate and precise measurements.
