Phew, this semester has been LOADED with coursework that I haven’t had time to share about a very fun local collab 🤩

I’ve been shadowing the skilled acupuncturist .galis.internal.arts at as part of my MS in Human Nutrition & Functional Medicine at UWS. I had an elective option and jumped at the opportunity to get some in-person experience since online grad school can be 🤯😱😵‍💫😵 at times. And while is the acupuncturist-in-training of this duo, I hold a profound respect and fascination for this ancient art. It’s been pretty special getting to witness healing in action and I’ve been LOOOOOVVVINGGGGG picking Tony and ‘s ( their other exceptional acupuncturist and herbalist) brains about Chinese Herbs- hands down my favorite part and something I hope to continue to expand and apply in my own practice one day 😌

So if you’re local to Athens and you haven’t visited Thrive yet, do yourself a favor and get over there! They also have massage and chiropractic care which I can attest are also both incredible 🤩

Food: oranges, all olive products, brown lentils with parsley, lemon, feta, and olive oil (basically foods that calm my stomach hehe)
Herb: Orange Peel! or Ginger
Animal: Gulf Fritillary, any cat, Tufted Titmouse, raccoons
Dream date: surfing in Costa Rica, date must end with pistachio gelato in a cone

Crazy to think that we haven’t lived in the same city for over 4 years, but we somehow keep our relationship strong and growing deeper every year - our perennial root structure going strong, baby!

I love this pic of us. I love making you giggle (tehehehe!). I love how different we are because it means we are always learning from each other.

What if….

Plants aren’t just inert things for us to use. What if they are conscious beings that we work WITH.

What if they aren’t reduced down to what they’re “good for” but instead we see them as a whole.

What if they give us more than constituents and active compounds but instead also share their energetic print with us, just like the people and animals we interact with.

What if they’re aware of us just as we are them. What if we could slow down and respect this exchange.

How would it change your relationship with them?

This is a quote Amy and I have been ruminating on this Winter season… but how can we hear the heart if the mind is always yelling? Winter beckons us to listen.

I chose this pic as a “see ya later- I’ll be at the beach for a week!” post because the driftwood is reminiscent of a naked tree, stripped bare by Winter’s revealing nature. Even though I’ll be sunning my bum, I’m stoked (perhaps for the first time) to carry the spirit of Winter with me. Reveal me, baby! If the heart knows, I want to listen! ✈️❄️🏝️
