Hello everyone,
I wanted to touch base and share what’s been going on. Since December, I’ve been dealing with some health issues that have kept me from working on terrariums, and I’ve really missed it and all of you.
I had a bunch of tests done, and they found a nodule on my lungs. I was then referred to the Clearview center (though I’m not a fan of saying the C word). After several tests, I had to have a lung biopsy. All this happened during the holidays, and the wait was incredibly stressful. I was so relieved when I finally got my results; Praise the Lord they didn’t find any C CELLS.
I was so relieved, but they also discovered I had a bacterial infection in my lungs called MAC. This is an infection that lives in soil, on plants, and in water. This was devastating news for me since I love plants; the treatment is very strong antibiotics for about 18 months, with three types taken three times a week. This bacteria can be found in everyday life, but if you’re immune compromised, you’re at a higher risk. So, my rheumatoid arthritis treatment plan will need to change because some of the medication doesn’t mix well with the antibiotics.
Fatigue is a big side effect of both rheumatoid arthritis and the lung disease.
I’m hoping that once I get used to the medication, I can start working on TreeTop Terrariums again and rejoin the craft circuit. I miss it so much, so that’s just an update on what’s been happening. Again, we haven’t disappeared; we just had those minor setbacks.
