Agnes Elizabeth “Betty” Robertson, native Athenian, passed away on June 26, 2025.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 12, at 11:00 a.m. at First Christian Church of Athens with Reverend Elizabeth Hagan officiating. Interment will follow in Oconee Hill Cemetery. A reception will follow the interment in the Sexton’s House at the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Christian Church Building Fund, 268 W. Dougherty St., Athens, GA 30601, or the charity of your choice.

Dr. Alex P. Keller, III, 80, beloved brother, husband, father, and grandfather died on June 22, 2025, from injuries sustained in a fall.

There will be a private family service on Wednesday, July 9, and following, the family will receive friends from 4:30-7:30 p.m., at Bernstein Funeral Home, 3195 Atlanta Hwy., Athens.

Patricia Keller of Athens, GA passed peacefully on May 14, 2025.

The family would like to thank caregiver, Holly Crymes and the Presbyterian Village Memory Care staff for taking such good care of Pat the past few years. They would also like to thank Chaplain Christin Norman and her staff as Pat enjoyed Sunday service at PV and would “never miss church.”

A private service will be held at the Presbyterian Village Chapel, 1400 Live Oak Lane, Bldg. 100, Athens, GA 30606, on Wednesday, May 21, at 3 p.m., and the family will receive friends in the Presbyterian Village atrium from 4-5 p.m.

Robert Barnett “Bob” Cunningham, 73, passed away peacefully at his home in Athens, Georgia on Monday, May 12, 2025.

A memorial service is scheduled for Monday, May 19, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., at Athens First United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends in Hancock Hall following the service.

The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to Dr. Petros Nikolinakos and the dedicated nurses and staff at the University Blood and Cancer Center for four years of exceptional medical treatment. And a special thank you to Dr. R. Patrick Lucas who provided Bob with such compassionate care.

We extend our sympathy to the family of Robert E. “Bob” Thornton, III, 87, of Toccoa, who passed away on May 7. Bob was manager of Bernstein’s in the 1980s. Private funeral services will be held. Whitlock Mortuary, Funerals and Cremations of Toccoa is in charge of all arrangements.
