MSAT students were busy last week! We hosted guest speakers from IATS to speak about ATs working in the industrial setting as a lead up to the annual CHSP IPE event. This year we discussed a patient case about a security guard who was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma from exposure working at an atomic plant. Students discussed interprofessional care from symptom onset to referral/diagnosis to treatment/palliative care and end of life care. The event also included panel of local health care providers. We rallied on Sunday to provide medical care at the Athens Marathon with the HCOM med students then spent the rest of the week providing orthopedic screening assessments for the Athens City Fire Dept and practicing casting techniques for final exams……Whew! What a great way to end the semester!
