MY DIALYSIS STORY. My kidneys were affected by SYSTEMIC LUPUS ERYTHEMATOSUS (SLE). Diagnosed with SLE in 1975, Kidney Disease in 1989, and put on Dialysis in 2012.
Living on dialysis has been rough. But it keeps me alive to enjoy my grand-children. I have one son. He married and now I have 8 grandchildren. Dialysis does tire me out. That’s why I retired early. But I have enjoyed not going to work. First, after retiring, I worked as a tutor for local community college. Then, worked as substitute teacher. Enjoyed but my body was extremely tired. Finally applied for Social Security (2018). They asked why did I wait and not apply in 2014. Told them I really thought I could work part-time. But had to face reality and come home.
Now I’m fundraising and looking for a donor for a transplant. http://www.gofundme.com/Share4Janice
