The receptionist is the first point of contact for patients at our office and has key responsibilities in the coordination of many day-to-day administrative office activities. This position provides general office support with a variety of clerical activities and related tasks.
Duties Include Tasks Such As:
- Greeting patients in a friendly manner
- Verifying patient insurance coverage
- Scheduling and confirming patient appointments
- Preparing new patient charts neatly and accurately
- Responding to patient billing or financial inquiries, directing to appropriate contacts as necessary
- Collecting and recording payments
- Managing communications with physician offices
- Various other office duties as assigned
Minimum Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a healthcare office or fast-paced, interactive customer service environment preferred
- Experience in the medical industry with scheduling and verifying insurances is also preferred
- Self-motivated with the ability to exceed patient expectations
- Excellent organizational skills to effectively handle multiple tasks
- Flexibility to support change with varying schedules as necessary
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
