Avir at Athens is proud to be recognized as a Center of Excellence in Wound Management. ⭐️

This annual distinction highlights facilities that demonstrate exceptional standards in wound care and clinical outcomes. We are honored to meet and uphold the following criteria:

• Less than 1% wound-related hospitalization rate
• Vohra wound physician rounding, with an average wound census of more than 5 patients per week
• Regular interdisciplinary team meetings focused on Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI)
• A designated Vohra wound care certified nurse available 7 days a week

A special thank you to our four Vohra Wound Care certified nurses for their dedication and expertise: Crystal Tidwell, our full-time wound care nurse, Adrienne Pruitt, Valerie Vaughn, and Amy White. Your commitment plays a vital role in the quality care our residents receive every day.

🎶🎄 It’s the season for singing at Avir at Athens! 🎄🎶

We were treated to a wonderful evening of music as Athens piano students, led by their teacher Barbara Railsback, played beautiful Christmas songs during supper. Then our residents — lovingly known as “The Faithful Ones” — carried on their annual tradition of Christmas caroling!

What a joyful night filled with music, memories, and holiday spirit. 💛✨
