Value based donation kundalini yoga in Menlo Park.
In 1993, one of the earliest students started teaching Kundalini Yoga regularly in Palo Alto, and this later expanded into the One Heart Yoga we are today. One Heart Yoga is a nonprofit whose student donations allow us to support this work. We teach and support Kundalini Yoga on the peninsula in the mid San Francisco bay area.
Kundalini is a yoga of (self) awareness. Kundalini Yoga (KY) was first passed down secretly from master to student until it was brought to the U.S. in 1969, where it developed the open and formalized style that exists throughout the world today. KY has been described as a technology that will support and uplift you in a modern age. Physical movement, combined with breath and sound are utilized to create a mind/body experience, increase sensitivity, and connect with your true self. We integrate breath, music, mantra, postures, movements, and meditation to heal the mind-body-heart & spirit.
KY practices work to align and balance your nervous system, which in essence controls all the other systems and affects your entire being. After practice, you may notice that you breathe better and your mind is quieter. You may notice improved -internal and external- flexibility, endurance and strength. As your consciousness expands you may bask in a glow of universal life energy.
If this interests you, come join our Tuesday night class. You will benefit no matter your starting place. Learn the technology in class, so you can also have your own home practice.
Our classes are held most Tuesday evenings at 7pm in Menlo Park, and now via ZOOM (updated 2020). We now offer classes in seasonal series focusing around themes, attend the entire series or any class independently. Our classes draw from more than 3,000 possible yoga sets and over 2,000 meditations.
