You have the power to impact the future of millions living with conditions like yours by participating in a Brain Imaging Research Study at Emory. Currently there are no medications to slow or stop these diseases. With your help, we can change that.
We are recruiting healthy volunteers and patients with Parkinson’s disease, Multiple System atrophy (MSA), progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) and other forms of parkinsonism to participate in an MRI study of these conditions. We are also recruiting patients with idiopathic REM sleep behavior disorder. The goal of the research study is to develop new imaging tools that can improve clinical trials for Parkinson’s disease and related conditions. These imaging tools are needed to accelerate the development of better treatments.
The study visit consists of an MRI scan (approximately 1 hour), a blood draw, and a 3-4 hour neurological evaluation. You will be compensated for your time.
You may be eligible to participate if you:
- Have Parkinson’s disease, MSA, PSP, DLB, or Parkinson’s disease dementia.
- Have idiopathic REM sleep behavior disorder.
- Are a healthy adult over the age of 30.
- Do not have any contraindications to MRI (metal fragments in your body, pacemaker, deep brain stimulation implant) and are not pregnant or claustrophobic.
