Its not surprising that people are confused about nutrition when the media is continuously showing a variety of miracle diets.

Think about this: vegetarian versus carnivore, high-fat versus low-fat diets and, more recently, low-carb diets versus high-carb.

Its not that there is a one size fits all or one better than the other! The important thing to know is

1. WHAT IS BEST FOR YOU?
2. WHAT WILL HELP YOU ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS?

simple as that!

I could have chosen a professional photo, a stock photo, or a graduation photo. But as a nurse , I know that’s not the reality we live in as nurses. This is. We are overworked and exhausted many times but we keep pushing through because our purpose is bigger than that.

Instead of telling my fellow nurses “Happy nurses day”, I want to praise you and appreciate you.

Our world could not have survived without us. I dare you to challenge me on that. Under regular times we already did so much as a community. The last few years have been anything but regular and those were the times we were challenged, pushed and put through every possible trial we could gone through.

Strength and resilience.
Two words that define this career. During this week “Nurse appreciation week” , it’s also “Mental Health Awareness” month. Which is why I am here just as you - beaten and bruised from the hardships we’ve endured the last few years.

I want to challenge my fellow nurses to APPRECIATE yourselves, APPRECIATE each other…every single day. Check in on your nurse friends. Together we are stronger. Together we can overcome anything that comes our way.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your service. Thank you for your love, patience, care and overall support for your fellow nurses.

Protein is a powerful nutrient 🔥

Protein is an important component of every cell in the body. Hair and nails, for example, are mostly made of them. Your body also uses them to build and repair tissue, produce enzymes, hormones, and other chemicals.

Consuming an adequate amount of protein after a workout gives your body the amino acids it needs to repair and rebuild these proteins. It also gives you the building blocks required to build new muscle tissue!

What we eat doesn't just affect our physical health: it can also affect our mental health and wellbeing.

The thing is mood is regulated by the brain, and to work properly, the brain needs optimal fuel from nutrients in food. If most of your diet consists of highly refined foods that lack in nutritional values, there is little room left for nutrient-dense foods.

Foods that are high in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, such as fresh fruits and vegetables, fish, nuts, whole grains, and legumes. Its important to note that you don't need DRASTIC changes. You need better daily habits.
