Meet our adult honoree for our Charlotte Jingle Bell Run!
When she was 18 months old, Michelle Murchison was diagnosed with arthritis making her one of the rare individuals who have lived with arthritis since birth. Since then, she has lived with chronic pain. She’s become a true “robogirl” with her first total joint replacement in her left knee coming at 16 years old at OrthoCarolina in Charlotte, NC! She has six titanium joint replacements, four joint fusions, and a lot more where that came from.
Michelle is now a disability advocate and children's book author, as well as the mother of two magical kids, and wife of a heavily tattooed, soft-hearted man. In 2024, Michelle published her first award-winning children's book called "Stars on My Knees," a book written so that children with scars can see themselves as a main character.
Inspired by her own arthroscopic surgery scars from childhood, this book inspires confidence, empowerment, empathy, and understanding. Follow her on Instagram at and check out her book here: https://a.co/d/2i2jM9Y
Michelle is a native Charlottean and has her own team in this year’s Jingle Bell Run named “Team Jinglechelle” after her AIM screen name in college.
