Common Mental Health Disorders and Symptoms

It’s important to know the symptoms of common mental health disorders so you can know is it time to seek additional help from a professional. When you are diagnosed with a mental health disorder it doesn’t mean you are “broken” or “crazy”; it just simply helps yourself and those around you know what you are struggling with and how to better help you in your time of need. Take a moment and see do any of these symptoms apply to you and ask yourself “How are you coping with your mental health? Can you do more to strengthen your mental health?” Educate yourself outside the common mental health disorders by gathering information from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 5th Edition: DSM-5.

Mental health: noun

“A person’s condition with regard to their psychological and emotional well-being.” Mental health isn’t a sign of weakness, something to be ashamed of, or something you can “snap out of”.

Mental health is very important for us to care for as it’s our psychological health. If you are mentally exhausted are you able do your daily activities like go to the gym, make dinner or even your job/school work? I bet it’s a bit harder when you are mentally exhausted to even think of those tasks.

Mental health is just as important as your physical health. It can be positive or negative depending on what are you dealing with. So today take a moment and check in on your mental health and establish what do you need to do to take better care of your mental health! 🤗

Sometimes we get caught up in the busyness of our lives; families, significant partners, careers, social life and so much more always seem to keep us busy. It’s important for us to have some “me time” where none of the “busyness” of your life effect what you’re doing. Close all the tabs in your head to make space for peace. Happy Thursday & make sure you take time for you to clear your mind!

Try yoga, exercising, mediating, sitting in the closet with the lights off, deep breathing, praying, during lunch (turn off your phone and television), take a GOOD nap! Whatever you do, make sure it brings you a peace of mind. ✨
