HAPPY NEW YEAR

NEW YEAR FLIGHT 2024 INSTRUCTIONS ✨️

Good Afternoon and welcome to Flight 2024.

We are prepared to take off into the New Year. Please make sure your Positive Attitude and Gratitude are secured and locked in the upright position.

All self-destruct devices: pity, anger, selfishness, pride, and resentment should be turned off at this time. All negatively, hurt, and discouragement should be put away.

Should you lose your Positive Attitude under pressure during this flight, reach up and pull down a prayer.

Prayers will automatically be activated by Faith. Once your Faith is activated, you can assist other passengers who are of little faith.

There will be NO BAGGAGE allowed on this flight. God, our Captain, has cleared us for take-off.

Destination - GREATNESS!

Wishing you a New Year filled with HOPE, new JOY, and new BEGINNINGS!
STAY BLESSED!

Last year around this same time the CDC reported health outcomes for the state of Georgia concerning child obesity in an editorial titled An Encouraging Trend on Child Obesity.

The editorial concluded saying..."The challenge continues for kids in school. In the SHAPE program's recent fitness assessment, only 16 percent of Georgia students passed all five fitness tests. Twenty percent were unable to pass any of the FitnessGram tests."

If these are the fitness outcomes for all of Georgia's youth then WE"VE GOT WORK TO DO!!!! AND A GENERATION TO SAVE. National reports predict the coming generation of youth will live shorter life spans then any generations before because of health disparities linked to child obesity and obesity in general.

The editorial goes on to say both Georgia State Health Commissioner Barbara Fitzgerald and state school Superintendent John Barge sent a letter urging Georgia's local school superintendents to consider adopting a daily 30-minute period of physical activity for elementary school students, to combat obesity.

Frankly, I find the above strategy empty and sad. It should be a legal mandate from Georgia's assembly or senate that every school pre-K through high school have 30 minutes of physical activity a day to teach our kids the importance of healthy lifestyle choices, both physical activity and nutrition, which all research points to as the key factors in CHILD and ADULT obesity!

You can read the article: https://dph.georgia.gov/encouraging-trend-childhood-obesity

The child obesity numbers keep getting better in Georgia. The CDC has reported that 19 states saw a decrease in obesity from 2008 to 2011 among low-income children ages 2 to 4 years. And the 1.6 percentage point decline in Georgia was bigger than anywhere else except for the U.S. Virgin Islands.
