Does your child suffer from separation anxiety? Goodbyes can be tough, but a predictable goodbye routine can make them easier!

✨ Try something simple and fun, like:
🤗 1 hug
💋 2 kisses
🙌 double high five
💡 and a special phrase: “I can do this!”

The key: Follow the routine every time you separate. Consistency and predictability show your child they are safe — and help ease separation anxiety over time.

Does your family already have a goodbye routine, or will you try making one this week? We would love to hear about the creative goodbye routine you develop with your child!

If you're feeling unsure of how to respond to your child’s big emotions or behaviors, start here:

👉 Ask yourself:
“Am I being consistent?”
“Am I being predictable?”

These two parenting tools—more than any perfect script or strategy—create the emotional safety kids need to thrive. When consequences or rewards change based on your mood or energy level, it can feel confusing and even scary to a child’s nervous system.

Many kids become dysregulated not because they’re "difficult"...
but because the world around them feels unpredictable. 🌪️

So if you're ever feeling stuck or overwhelmed—pause and return to this grounding question:
“How can I be more predictable right now?”

Small shifts in your consistency can make a huge difference in your child’s ability to self-regulate, connect, and grow. 💛

Tantrums. Defiance. Meltdowns.
They’re not always signs of a “bad” behavior… but often signs of an unmet need — especially the need for connection. 💛

Children may seek out any kind of attention — even negative — because connection is essential to their emotional safety. When they feel secure and seen, their behavior often begins to shift naturally.

The most powerful tool for shaping behavior isn’t punishment — it’s relationship.

✅ Try this:
– Designate a few minutes a day in play or conversation, fully present
– Catch and praise the positive behavior you want to see more of
– Stay curious about what your child’s behavior might be trying to communicate

Connection builds trust. Trust builds cooperation.

Let’s lead with connection — and watch behavior follow. 💕
