Research shows that babies do best when they are born after week 39. Babies born before 39 weeks are at risk for problems with breathing, feeding, and controlling their temperature. They are also more likely to spend time in the neonatal intensive care unit, develop infections, and have a learning disability.

Meet Alpha, my Daschund/Jack Russell rescue. He came into my life over 3 years ago and has been a source of joy, laughs, angst and comfort. Oh, and he ensures I get my cardio in EVERYDAY!

According to the ASPCA, "approximately 3.3 million dogs enter shelters every year. When these abandoned and abused animals find their way to a shelter, each one needs a forever home and their potential is limitless. They are rescue dogs". Consider dog adoption!
