Congratulations are in order for Lyissa O’Connor, our newest ICEEFT certified EFCT therapist!

Here’s what Alan Graham has to say about Lyissa:

“It’s my pleasure to announce Lyissa O’Connor’s certification as an EFT couple therapist. Lyissa is an important part of the EFT therapist community in the Pensacola, FL area where she practices. However, I met Lyissa in Atlanta where she completed Core Skills and has have had the privilege of supervising Lyissa for some time and have seen her work grow, not only as a therapist but also as a valued member of the training team for Atlanta Core Skills. Even though she practices in Florida, we consider her family here in Atlanta and we’re not letting her go!

Lyissa’s work is thoughtful, sensitive, and heart-felt as she applies the EFT model to troubled couples. She genuinely cares for her couples and brings her whole self to her work. It’s been a pleasure to watch Lyissa growth. I’ve also seen Lyissa’s tender support of EFT trainees here in Atlanta, as well. She is a valuable addition to our stellar group of EFCT therapists and I know you celebrate this important achievement with me.

If you would like to send your congratulations to her directly, please feel free to send her an email at lyissa@maitricounselingcenter.com.

Congratulations Lyissa! Well done!!”

Please join us in celebrating this wonderful accomplishment with Lyissa!

Please join us in congratulating Sarah on her recent certification as an Emotionally Focused Couples Therapist!

“I am delighted that I get to announce that Sarah Plyler of the Atlanta EFT Community has been certified as an Emotionally Focused Therapist for Couples! This is a well-deserved honor and those of us that have had the privilege of getting to work with her and experience all that she offers her clients and colleagues could not be more excited to celebrate this milestone with her. She possesses a sharp therapeutic acumen and continues to demonstrate a humble commitment to providing quality, humanistic mental health care to her clients.

Becky Wofford, LMFT has worked closely with Sarah and had this to say: “I have had the distinct pleasure of working closely with Sarah over the past 6 years and have been continually impressed by Sarah’s clinical skill, dedication, and unwavering commitment to her clients and the EFT model. Sarah has also made significant contributions to the EFT community, currently through her role on the Board of Directors for the Atlanta Community for Emotionally Focused Therapy. Her position as our Communications Director has been invaluable in promoting EFT and supporting the professional growth of other therapists in our region. In addition to her leadership roles in ACEFT, Sarah has co-founded her own group practice, which places a strong emphasis on Emotionally Focused Therapy. This practice has quickly become a respected center for couples therapy in our area, further demonstrating Sarah’s expertise and commitment to EFT.”

Sarah has participated in group supervision with Dr. James Hawkins and he had this to say after observing her work: “I feel grateful for the opportunity to watch Sarah’s work. It is clear that Sarah is well-versed in EFT Tango and can effectively work with emotions from an experiential attachment perspective. Congrats on demonstrating your beautiful application of EFT.”

Please join us in congratulating Natalie Milom on receiving her ICEEFT Certification in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy!

“Natalie is a highly skilled EFT clinician who works with individuals, couples, and families dealing with complex trauma and attachment injuries. She attunes beautifully to her clients, creating a safe and secure space for them to explore their emotions and experience deep moments of healing and reconnection. Her commitment to creating a culturally safe haven for couples of color is especially impactful and much needed in Georgia. Natalie is the second Black female in the state to become certified and is truly a trailblazer and pioneer. It has been a privilege to support her on this journey. She is a force, and it’s an honor to celebrate this remarkable achievement!”
– Jena A. Irvin, ICEEFT Certified EFT Therapist & Supervisor-in-Training.

Don’t miss our final Community Meeting Series of the year on October 11th, 2024, from 10 AM to 12 PM ET. This is a free event offered to our ACEFT Community. We encourage you to join us for connection, collaboration, and shared learning. Register at www.eftatlanta.com

In this Community Meeting, we will be reviewing the Key Change Event of Pursuer Softening in the couple we’ve been following. We will look at how routine EFT interventions of reflection, attachment frame, conjecture, etc., are coordinated to evoke Attachment Needs and Fears and Working Models. In Stage Two we bring these Attachment Fears and Needs and Working Models “on line” with heightened emotion. In this video, we will see the pursuer reach through his fears and directly request help from his partner (now an engaged withdrawer). That reach, is profoundly difficult but profoundly healing when that reach is met with loving responsiveness.

We look forward to connecting with you at our October Community Meeting!
